Senior Architect
Roles & Responsibilities:

Prepare and present urban and architectural design studies, as well as presentations conveying results of same, to supervisor and other senior agency staff.

Conduct comprehensive and timely design review on assigned Projects.

Prepare regular status report of projects under review for supervisor and other senior agency staff.
-
Provide written, graphic and verbal urban design responses as necessary for the review of Art. 80 projects.
-
Maintain an up-to-date workflow tracking system.
-
Develop guidelines and feasibility studies to facilitate institutional or neighborhood planning studies and design review of projects.
-
Lead multi-disciplinary staff teams and coordinate appropriate input and expertise from them. Manage multi-disciplinary consultant teams on urban design/planning initiatives.

Manage the creation of RFPs for complex consultant teams to assist in the urban design/development planning studies as necessary. Work to provide urban design input for guidelines for site RFPs.

Facilitate development of planning studies which reflects consensus of community groups, regulatory agencies and other relevant parties.

Advise supervisor or other senior staff of sensitive or potentially controversial project-related issues requiring their input and/or approval.

Dispense public information about specific projects and overall design and planning initiatives to private citizens, civic or community groups, and other interested parties.

Perform other related duties as required.
